Somatic Therapy for Trauma
We understand how trauma—both big and small—shapes how we move through the world. Somatic therapy helps you gently reconnect with your physical and emotional experiences—at a pace that feels safe—so you can begin to release what’s been held inside. Using somatic and mindfulness approaches such as Sensorimotor Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we support you in coming back into connection—with yourself, with others, and with the present moment.
Somatic therapy can support:
Chronic tension, numbness, or shutdown
Overwhelm, anxiety, or hypervigilance
Feeling disconnected from your body
Processing relational or developmental trauma
Rebuilding a felt sense of safety
Tools to navigate big feelings and come back to center.
At the heart of our work is the belief that emotions aren’t problems to fix—they’re messengers to understand. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, shut down, or stuck in reactive cycles, we use mindfulness-based practices to help you relate to your emotions with more compassion, curiosity, and control.
Drawing from DBT, somatic therapy, and nervous system science, we offer concrete tools to support emotional regulation—so you can feel less hijacked by your feelings and more grounded in your body. Together, we practice slowing down, noticing what’s happening inside, and responding in ways that feel aligned and safe.
This work may include:
Breathwork and grounding exercises
Learning to name and track emotions
Understanding your nervous system’s signals
Tools for managing overwhelm, anxiety, or shutdown
Practicing presence in daily life and relationships
Mindfulness & Emotion Regulation
LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy
We offer a welcoming and affirming space for LGBTQ+ teens and adults to explore identity, navigate life transitions, and heal from the effects of discrimination or relational rupture. Our approach is identity-affirming and deeply attuned to the intersection of systemic and personal experiences.
We support clients navigating:
Gender identity and exploration
Coming out and family relationships
Internalized shame or minority stress
Transitions and belonging
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
IFS helps you understand and connect with the “parts” of yourself that may feel reactive, stuck, anxious, or protective. Rather than trying to “fix” or get rid of those parts, we build compassionate relationships with them—so they can soften, integrate, and heal.
Especially helpful for:
Inner conflict or self-criticism
Emotional reactivity
Healing from trauma or neglect
Developing self-trust
Teens and young adults face enormous pressure—and often need a space where they can explore who they are without judgment. We support them in navigating identity, friendships, school stress, and emotional regulation with a mix of skill-building, self-reflection, and relational safety.
This includes support for:
Self-esteem and identity
Anxiety or shutdown
Gender and sexual identity
School, social, or family stress
